Welcome. I’m Erica, a Spring Forest Qigong Practice Group Leader and Healer, and an Intern Medical Qigong Practitioner.
My work is rooted in Qigong, Classic Chinese Medicine, and traditional ways of knowing. I share these practices to help people reconnect with their bodies, find greater balance, and create space for more ease, connection, and joy in their lives.
I have always been drawn to relationships—with people, with community, and with nature. Being outdoors is one of the ways I recharge. I love walking the trails near my home, learning about the plants that grow around me, and sharing outdoor adventures with family and friends. Nature continues to be an important part of how I understand balance, renewal, and well-being.
Before becoming a Qigong Practitioner, I worked in community-based social work and research in Calgary and Whitehorse. I supported women and their children in women’s shelters and community centres, and worked with the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services on community research projects. Across these roles, I was drawn to creating spaces where people could feel supported, connected, and able to thrive.
That commitment to people and community continues to guide my work today.
Like many people, I sometimes find myself trying to balance work, family, and the many demands of everyday life. I know what it feels like to become scattered, overwhelmed, and disconnected from myself. Qigong has become an important part of how I return to a sense of balance and calm.
When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to my practice. When I need additional support, I receive an energy balancing treatment. These practices have made a meaningful difference in my own life, helping me feel more peaceful, grounded, content, and alive. This is why I share them with others: I have experienced their value in my own life, and I love helping others discover what these practices may offer them.
Qigong also deepens my relationship with nature and with the body's own capacity for balance and renewal. Through gentle movement, breath, awareness, and intention, Qigong offers a way to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with ourselves.
I have been fortunate to study with many wise and generous teachers. I am especially grateful to Jaki Daniels, Master Munira Jiwa—a student of Grandmaster Chunyi Lin, founder of Spring Forest Qigong—and Noel Taylor, Medical Qigong Doctor, who continue to support and guide my learning journey. I am grateful as well to the many teachers, mentors, and people who have shared their knowledge with me along the way.
It is an honour to share these practices with you.
My hope is to create a welcoming space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and discover practices that support greater balance, ease, and well-being.
