Join us for a gentle and accessible Qigong practice designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body, and cultivate greater calm and balance.

Spring Forest Qigong combines breath, visualization, gentle movement, and sound in a practice that supports relaxation, focus, body awareness, and a sense of inner balance. This moving meditation is simple to learn and can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness levels. Movements can be adapted for standing, seated, or lying-down practice.

What to Expect

Each class begins with gentle warm-up exercises, including light bouncing, tapping, and cupping movements. These practices help bring awareness to the body and prepare you for the Qigong practice.

We then move into approximately 30 minutes of mindful Qigong movement, coordinated with breath, visualization, and sound. The movements are gentle and can be practiced standing or seated.

The class concludes with a 10–15 minute guided meditation, providing an opportunity to become still, settle the mind, and integrate the practice.

We finish with gentle closing exercises, including light bouncing, tapping, and cupping, to complete the practice and bring your awareness back into the body.

Qigong (also spelled as “Chi Gong”, “Chi Kong”, or “Qi Gong”) is an ancient Chinese scientific study of the power of Qi in the body and the universe, and of how to use this power to benefit all aspects of life. "Qi" is a form of intelligence and a form of life force.  For example, Chinese people call the energy in a person’s body “Qi.” “Gong” means “the work of” or “the practice of.” Thus, Qigong is the practice of working with the energy in our bodies to create balance.

Qigong is an ancient form of meditation exercise and  cornerstone to Classic Chinese Medicine.  The simple practice induces a calm, meditative state that relaxes the mind, improves one's health, and calms the spirit.

Spring Forest Qigong is designed to stimulate your body's natural healing abilities. Spring Forest Qigong is based on principles that date back thousands of years and have been refined over the millennia.   It was created by Grandmaster Chunyi Lin based on the 5 Element System of Classic Chinese Medicine.

Spring Forest Qigong is designed to awaken your body's healing energy.  It empowers you with simple tools and techniques, based on ancient wisdom, to help you navigate and transform the daily stressors in the modern and fast-paced world.  It allows you to maintian an inner calmness regardless of what is going on around you.  Learn how you can use the elements of breathing, visualization, moving meditation and sound to help you transorm energy blockages.  All that you really need is an open mind and a willingness to do something new. Take this class and you may be amazed.

Qigong is a form of Classical Chinese Medicine. Each meridian has a unique function reflecting how we relate to and express our outer and inner worlds. The flow and function of the Qi within these meridians affects our organs, mental clarity, and connection to our spirits. The flow of Qi can become blocked or compromised leading to dysfunction and disease.

While many forms of medicine focus on the treatment of symptoms and disease, in Qigong, the focus is instead on the root cause. Whether symptoms are physical, mental or spiritual in nature, they are an indicator or warning signal that a meridian is in distress. While it can be helpful to understand these symptoms, the practitioners awareness is always with the root cause.

By treating the root cause, the practitioner is able to restore full Qi flow to every meridian each session. The client may unable to 'hold' this full flow of Qi in the early stages of treatment. It may last a few weeks or a few days depending on multiple factors, including the severity of dysfunction they are presenting with. Old patterns of dysfunction will likely surface between sessions. However, over time and with regular treatments, the meridians will being to 'remember' their true nature and begin to maintain wellness and harmony. Once this state of function has been restored, the client may only require seasonal treatments, or only when extra support is required.
